Position the shock absorber in the special tool.
Spring compressor (T14050S)
Info
Use the suitable ring of the special tool with the
smallest possible inside diameter.

Compress the spring.

Mount original half washers

Release the spring. Remove the shock absorber from the
special tool.

Clamp the shock absorber into the vise.
Guideline
Use soft jaws.
Alternative 1
–
Tension the spring by turning the adjusting ring to the pre-
scribed value.

Warning
Danger of accident Modifications to the suspen-
sion setting may seriously alter the handling cha-
racteristic.
Extreme modifications to the suspension setting
may cause a serious deterioration in the handling
characteristic and overload components.

Tension the spring to the length measured during disas-
sembly by turning the adjusting ring.

Install the rear left side cover (see repair manual).

Mount the seat (see Owner's Manual).
