Assembling the shock absorber

Info
When assembling, ensure that the screw caps are
mounted correctly.
Rebound damping side – right fork leg, screw cap
with marking REB, red adjuster.
Compression damping side – left fork leg, screw cap
with marking COMP, white adjuster.

Pull the spring downward.
–
Mount the open end wrench on hexagonal part
–
Hold the open end wrench. Tighten screw cap
Guideline
Screw cover on the
piston rod
Ring wrench (T14017)
–
Push the outside fork tube upward.
–
Clamp the outside fork tube in the area of the lower triple
clamp.
Clamping stand (T1403S)
–
Grease the O-ring of the screw cover.
Lubricant (T158) (
–
Mount and tighten screw cap

Final steps

Install the fork legs (see repair manual).
–
Install the front wheel using a work stand (see repair manual).
–
Remove the load from the rear of the vehicle.
–
Remove the motorcycle from the work stand (see repair
manual).
Preliminary work

Raise the motorcycle using a work stand (see repair manual).

Take off the seat (see Owner's Manual).
–
Take off the side cover (see Owner's Manual).
–
Remove the air filter box (see repair manual).
–
Remove the rear fairing (see repair manual).
–
Remove the rear left side cover (see repair manual).
–
Remove the rear right side cover (see repair manual).
–
Remove the shock absorber (see repair manual).
–
Remove the spring (see repair manual).
