4.2 For the autopsy
The oscillating saw is used in the autopsy for cutting bones. The guiding of the saw is described
in 4.1.

5 Cleaning and maintenance

5.1 The use of the cast saw.
The following measures should be performed once a week
or more often if the saw is used frequently:
Clean the cooling slots (see fig. 5) to ensure sufficient ventilation for cooling the motor.Clean the
motor compartment from the outside with a jet of dry compressed air.
5.2 The use of the autopsy saw:
The saw should be cleaned after every use.
An efficient cleaning can only be made if you remove the
saw blade. (Compare 3.1 Releasing the retaining screw/
removing the old saw blade). Remove the two head screw.
The retaining screws, fixation ring and saw blade have to be
revomed. Take off the saw head (compare fig. 10).

Please use thick gloves to prevent injury when
handling the saw blade
For the machine cleaning the saw head should lie down
horizontal- compare fig. 11. The machine cleaning should be
effected with a standard cleaning program. The cleaning agent
must have a pH-value of <10, otherwise the surface coating
will be damaged.
For the manual cleaning use plastic brushes and /or cleaning
pistols. Do not use cleaning agents with fixing effect. The pH-
value should be also <10, so that the surface coating won't be
damaged. Wash the saw head with fully demineralized water. Then use disinfectant.

The preparation and sterilization is only allowed for the saw
tenance work.
