4. Installation

4.1. Preparation for on-site installation

After removing the transport packaging, the following checks must be carried out in advance to the on-site
installation:
Inspection of the nameplate information and alignment with the operating conditions of the machine or
application system for which the bladder accumulator is intended.
Comparison of the name plate data with the details of the declaration of conformity.
Visual inspection to exclude transport damage of the vessel, gas and oil port connections as well as any
indication of corrosion or other surface damage.
Await sufficient temperature compensation of the accumulator with the ambient conditions at the installation
site.
Check the fastening of the gas and oil port connection by torque-controlled retightening of the groove nut at
the oil end and the retaining nut at the gas end.

B10,0 ÷ B50,0 – 330
CAUTION: A residual fluid leak is possible, when removing the protective cap. Precautions must be
taken in advance to collect or immediately remove the drained fluid.

4.2. General arrangement and system integration

The arrangement of a bladder accumulator is not subject to any fundamental restrictions with respect to its basic
functions and the expected fluid capacity at its operating pressures. Nevertheless, a vertical arrangement of the
accumulator with downwards orientated oil port is to be preferred. In this arrangement, a charge cycle with a
maximum flow rate and minimum vessel clearance can be achieved.
In order to increase the volumetric efficiency or to minimize flow losses, a bladder accumulator arrangement as
close as possible to the hydraulic consumer should be realized. An upstream oil filter for the separation of small
metal particles and other contaminations favors an extended durability of the bladder and the internal seals.
Bladder accumulators should not be positioned close to a heat source. If this is nevertheless necessary, the
operator must take actions to ensure compliance with the permissible operating temperatures. These do not relate
exclusively to the temperature of the pressure fluid, but include inadmissible operating temperatures of the bladder
and seals by external heat generators.
To ensure safe filling of the bladder accumulator with nitrogen during commissioning or maintenance, a free height
of at least 200 mm above the gas port must be provided.
