MAINTENANCE

8.1

Adjustments

For the appliance to operate correctly and efficiently it is recom-
mended that the User calls upon the services of a Professionally
Qualified Technician to carry out ANNUAL maintenance.

CAUTION
– The maintenance interventions described must
ONLY be carried out the professionally qualified
personnel who MUST wear suitable protective safety
equipment.
– Make sure that the temperature of the components
inside the device or of the system pipes are not too
hot (risk of burns).
– Shift the system's main switch to "OFF".
– Close the fuel shut-off valve.

8.2

Checking the magnesium anode

The preparation of domestic hot water is guaranteed by a calori-
fier (1) fitted with a magnesium anode (2) to protect the calorifier
and an inspection flange for inspection and cleaning operations.
The magnesium anode must be checked periodically and re-
placed if worn out, or the calorifier's warranty shall be voided.

CAUTION
Once the anode has been replaced, to avoid potential
bacteria contamination, perform one or two complete
draining and filling cycles of the water in the calorifier,
as described in the paragraph "Refilling or emptying"

Periodic maintenance normally involves cleaning of:
– the fume passages, inside the cast iron body
– fume discharge ducts
– burner
– heat recovery device and condensate discharge siphon.
8.3.1
To facilitate internal maintenance of the appliance, we suggest
partially dismantling the jacket in accordance with the following
procedure:
– remove the front panels (1), (2) and the top panels (3) and (4)
– loosen the screws (5) and (6), then remove the panel (7) by
sliding it out backwards from the side
– loosen the screws (8) securing the panel (9) to the frame of

– pull the panel (9) first towards the front and then upwards to
remove it.

Cleaning the inside of the appliance

CAUTION
Preventive maintenance and the inspection of the ef-
ficiency of the equipment and safety systems must be
performed at the end of each season exclusively by the
Sime
Technical Support Service or by professionally
qualified personnel, in accordance with (Italian) Presi-
dential Decree no. 412 of 26 August 1993.
