4) ROTARY KNOB
Turn the rotary CH knob (4) to adjust channel. Clockwise to increase, coun-
terclockwise to decrease the channel.

5) AM/FM ~ PA ~ CB/WX ~ ALERT
AM/FM
(short press)
Press the AM/FM key (5) to modify the modulation mode AM or FM. Your
modulation mode has to correspond to the one of your correspondent.
Amplitude Modulation / AM: communication on a field with relief and
-
obstacles at middle distance (the most used).

Frequency Modulation / FM: for nearby communications on a flat open
field.

An external loud speaker can be connected to the unit by the PA jack plug
located on the back panel PA.SP. (D).

CB functions are not allowed in WX mode.
The WX mode allows you to hear weather informations. When the mode
is activated, use rotary CH knob (4) or the UP/DN buttons (13) on the mi-

The display shows the selected weather channel and if the unit receives a

ALERT
(F key + long press)
This function only works in CB mode. It does not work in WX mode.
Short press the F key (8) and press the Alert key (5) for 1 second to activate/
deactivate the ALERT function. When the function is activated and a tone
is detected at the selected weather channel, then the unit sounds a "siren"
alert. "ALERT" and the WX channel blink on the display. The unit cancels
WX
mode and goes to
mode.
While the "siren" sounds, press any key to stop the sound, "ALERT" and the
"WX channel" stop blinking on the display.
Note: The "siren" alert sounds when ALERT is detected in the selected
WEATHER channel only. Use first the SCAN function in
CHANNELS SCAN page 11) for detect alerts in all the weather channels.
6) EMERGENCY CHANNELS ~ STORE
EMERGENCY CHANNELS
Emergency channels will be automatically selected by pressing the EMG key
(6). First press : emergency channel 1 is activated. Second press: emergency
channel 2 is activated. Third press: return to the current channel. "EMG"
appears on the display when an emergency channel is activated.
Default emergency channels are channel 09/AM and channel 19/AM

channel. "EMG" must not appears on the display.

channel AM OR FM.

Press the PTT switch (12) or the F key (8) to validate and exit. If the KEY BEEP
function is activated, a long beep sounds to confirm the success of the
operation (consult the KEY BEEP menu page 12).

CHANNEL without save.
