13 Troubleshooting
Problem
Power tool not running.
Cut unclean, chain moving away
to the side.
Too much force necessary to
make progress when cutting.
No chain lubrication.

No power supply.
Worn carbon brushes.
Switch jammed.
After overload.
Chain rate of advance too fast.
Tool blunt.
Chain sharpened incorrectly.
Carriage contact surface con­
taminated.

Blocked lubrication channels
on the guide strip.
Defective oil feed pump.
Oil reservoir empty.
Inner oil channels of the pow­
er tool blocked or biological oil

Remedy
Check the fuses and power ca­
ble.
Replace the carbon brushes.
Press down on the safety lock.
Check fuses.
Reduce the rate of advance.
Sharpen the chain or replace it
with a new one.
Replace the chain.
Clean the carriage.
Sharpen the chain or replace it
with a new one.
Set a slower rate of advance.
Clean the guide strip.
Replace the pump (in an au­
thorised service workshop).
