1.
You must wash your hands thoroughly before commencing any work involving the
gas supply. Hydrocarbon compounds (e.g. oils, greases, rubbing alcohols, hand
creams or adhesive plaster) can cause explosive reactions if they come into contact
with highly compressed gases.

2.
Using the technical specifications on the type plate and in these instructions for use, check
whether the pressure regulator in your possession is technically suitable for the intended
purpose (type of gas, pressure, flow). The maximum permissible inlet pressure of the
pressure regulator must be greater than or equal to the filling pressure of the compressed
gas cylinder. Read the information provided by the supplier of the compressed gases
carefully.
3.
Remove any protective caps, seals, fasteners, etc. from the outlet connection of the
cylinder valve.
4.
Before connecting the TESCOM EUROPE pressure regulator, slowly open the valve on
the compressed gas cylinder briefly in a well-ventilated room or outdoors (this is to
blow out any contamination).
Do not aim the gas jet at anyone.
Please also observe the Section "Safety information for working with medical
gases".
5.
Remove the protective caps covering the connections on the pressure regulator and
keep them in a safe place.
6.
Screw the TESCOM EUROPE pressure regulator onto the compressed gas cylinder.
The connections must match exactly – do not use adapters!
All connections must be clean and free from oil and grease. Do not use lubricants!
Connection using the handwheel
•
The pressure regulator can be fitted with a handwheel connection to make it easier
to connect it to the cylinder valve. This connection is denoted by the knurled
connection screw or nut and the elastomer gasket inside one of the grooves on the
coupling connection.
When making the connection, it is absolutely essential to check the gasket for
evidence of damage and soiling. If the gasket is damaged or soiled, the pressure
regulator must not be used and the gasket has to be replaced (see Section
"Replacing gaskets").
Connection with pin index
•
The pressure regulator can also be fitted with a pin index. Please note that only the
original TESCOM EUROPE gasket included in the scope of supply may be used.
When making the connection, it is absolutely essential to check the gasket for
evidence of damage and soiling. If the gasket is damaged or soiled, the pressure
regulator must not be used and the gasket has to be replaced (see Section
"Replacing gaskets").
