7. Check that the pressure regulator and the compressed gas cylinder are securely
connected before slowly opening the cylinder valve. If the connection is not tight,
close the cylinder valve immediately.

Pressure surges caused by opening the valve too quickly can cause explosions!
8. A performance test must be run on the pressure regulator after every cylinder
change. Should faults be detected during the performance test, the pressure
regulator must be taken out of service. Contact TESCOM EUROPE or an authorised
specialist dealer to have the fault rectified.
A complete performance test includes:
• A visual inspection for mechanical damage
• Checking the system for leaks
• Checking the pressure relief valve for leaks
The user and operator are responsible for using and operating the pressure regulator and
the equipment connected to it, together with any accessories.
5.2

Connection/Assembly of downstream equipment

A variety of equipment can be connected downstream of the TESCOM EUROPE pressure
regulator.
Only suitable equipment may be connected to the pressure regulator. The Section
"Combination with downstream equipment" describes which accessories are
permissible.
When connecting equipment, please note the following:
• Check the pressure regulator, the equipment to be connected and the connecting
components in relation to the function and suitability of the materials with the gas
or test gas mixtures being used.
• All downstream appliances, hoses and joining elements must be marked with the
same type of gas.
• Connections and gaskets must be clean and free from oil and grease.
• There must be no evidence of damage on the gasket and sealing surfaces.
• Correct and proper procedures must be followed when connecting the TESCOM
EUROPE pressure regulator to downstream equipment. Please also read the
instructions issued by the manufacturers of the downstream equipment you are
using.
• The connections must match - do not use adapters!
• The opening of the pressure relief valve must not be covered or blocked.
• Once the relevant connections have been made, a check must be carried out to
ensure that all equipment is in working order. Please also follow the instructions for
use issued by the manufacturers of the downstream equipment you are using.
• The connection must be gas tight and must be checked once assembly is complete.
