7.2 Setting the contact pressure
The contact pressure must be set to the appropriate value so that slippage does not occur. To reduce wear
on the device and achieve the longest service life possible, set the contact pressure as low as possible.
The contact pressure can be set between 50 N and 235 N ± 35 N.
Open the housing cover at the lug and lift the
1
cover up.
Push the clamping lever up to release the latch.
2
Swivel the rocker arm to the side.
3
Set the contact pressure by turning the adjusting
4
screw (A).
One turn of the adjusting screw corresponds to 60 N.
If the adjusting screw is screwed in completely, the
force is approx. 235 N. The marking on the adjusting
A
screw points upwards and coincides with the marking
on the housing.
Position the wire protruding from the feeding body
5
approx. 50 mm above a suitable object at an exit
angle of approx. 45 degrees.
Feed the wire against this resistance and check if
6
slippage occurs.
If slippage occurs, increase the contact pressure.
