6. COMMISSIONING Before you
start

Carry out a general inspection of the condition of the pumping unit. Check the fastening of the frame,
pump and cardan shaft.

Check the condition of the shut-off and control valves.
-
After a long period of inactivity, check the presence of oil in the gearbox, top up if
necessary.
Pump start
-
Fill the working cavity of the pump and the suction pipe with liquid using a hand
pump, an electric pump or a filling container (see fig. 1).

Pump start procedure

Fill the suction pipe with water from the filling tank by opening the ball valve of
the filling pipe

(When filling, open the valve on the pressure pipe or the air vent on the pump)

After making sure that the pipeline is completely filled, close the valve of the discharge
pipeline and the ball valve of the filling pipeline

Start the pump, immediately after starting, smoothly open the valve of the pressure
pipeline.

By adjusting the position of the pressure pipe valve, achieve normal operation of the
pump.

The normal mode of operation of the pump should be considered the mode in which the
pump operates in accordance with its passport data

Before finishing work, fill the filling tank with water for subsequent pump starts. To do
this, open the ball valve of the tank filling line while the pump is running. After filling the
filling tank, close the ball valve and stop the pump.
