ATTENTION!
- When priming the pump, make sure that the non-return valve is working and that the working cavity of
the pump is completely filled with water. Otherwise, the pump may operate in the "dry running" mode,
which will inevitably lead to failure of the mechanical seal, and water leakage from the working chamber.
- Avoid starting the pump with the discharge pipe valve open. In this case, the pump consumes
maximum energy, which can lead to damage to the gearbox.
- Avoid prolonged work on a closed pressure pipe valve.
WARNING: Switch off the pump immediately if the following deviations occur
during normal operation:
- The pump runs with excessive vibration.
- The pump does not pump liquid
- Consumption is constantly changing.
- There is increased noise during operation
7. MAINTENANCE

The pumps of this series are equipped with a mechanical seal. The mechanical seal
does not require maintenance throughout its entire life. When starting the pump for
the first time, or starting up after a long period of inactivity, a small amount of liquid
may leak through the seal, which subsequently stops, this is not a malfunction.
The condition of the mechanical seal should be checked regularly for fluid leakage. The
service life of the seal depends on the mode of operation of the pump unit and the purity
of the pumped liquid.
If necessary, the seal must be replaced.

Regularly check the condition of the pump unit bearings. Bearing temperature must not
exceed 80ºC. The service life of bearings depends on the mode of operation and the quality
of the lubricant. If vibration, increased noise, or overheating of the bearing assembly occur,
the condition of the bearings should be checked and replaced if necessary.
ATTENTION!
BTS ENGINEERING pump bearings are oil lubricated.
The pumps are supplied with oil filled. Before starting work, check the presence of oil in
the crankcase for leakage during transportation of the pump.
Before filling in new oil, drain the old oil, clean the bearings from dirt and residues of the old
oil. Oil change every 1000 hours of operation.
Recommended oil: Mobil™ Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90.
Spare parts
BTS ENGINEERING guarantees the supply of all spare parts for MTZ-P series pumps for 5
(five) years from the date of manufacture.
When ordering spare parts, please provide the following information:
- Pump type
- Catalog number of the spare part (see appendix A)
- Year of manufacture and serial number
