SHIELDING
The selective shielding of other cables and equipment present
in the surrounding area may reduce the problems due to inter-
ference. The shielding of the entire welding installation can be
taken in consideration for special applications.
1.5 IP Protection rating
IP23S
- Enclosure protected against access to dangerous parts by fin-
gers and against ingress of solid foreign bodies with diameter
greater than/equal to 12.5 mm
- Enclosure protected against rain at an angle of 60°.
- Enclosure protected against harmful effects due to the ingress
of water when the moving parts of the equipment are not
operating.
2 INSTALLATION
2.1 Lifting, transport and unloading procedures
Do not underestimate the weight of the equip-
ment: see technical specifications.
Do not move or position the suspended load
above persons or things.
Do not drop or exert undue pressure on the sy-
stem or individual unit.
- The system is provided with a handle for movement by hand.
The manufacturer accepts no liability if the above prescrip-
tion is not duly observed and complied with at all times.
2.2 Positioning of the system
Keep to the following rules:
- Easy access to the equipment controls and connections
must be provided.
- Do not position the equipment in reduced spaces.
- Do not place the generator on surfaces with inclination
exceeding 10° with respect to the horizontal plane.
- Position the power source in a dry, clean and suitably venti-
lated place.
- Protect the system against driving rain and the sun.
2.3 Positioning of bottles
- Compressed gas cylinders are dangerous; consult the supplier
before handling them.
Protect them from:
- direct exposure to sun rays;
- flames;
- sudden changes in temperature;
- very low temperatures.
Compressed gas cylinders must be fixed to the walls or to other
supports, in order to prevent them from falling.

2.4 Connection
The SELCO mobile units are powered exclusively at low voltage.
Before carrying out any work, replacement or
repair of parts, ensure that the power source is
disconnected from the power supply line.
-
Open the left-hand side cover.
-
Connect the signal cable (1) to the appropriate connector.
-
Connect the power cable (2) to the appropriate fastening.
-
Tighten the cable clamps and close the left-hand side cover.
-
Connect the gas pipe to the rear hose fitting.
2.5 Commissioning
-
Check that the roller groove coincides with the diameter of
the wire you wish to use.
-
Unscrew the ring nut (1) from the coil reel and insert the
coil.
Fit the reel metal pin into its housing, replace the ring nut
(1) and adjust the friction screw (2).
-
Release the feed support of the gearmotor (3), sliding the
end of the wire into the wire guide bush and, passing it over
the roller, into the torch fitting.
Lock the feed support (3) in position, checking that the wire
has entered the roller groove.
-
Insert the torch, complete with sheath, into the central fit-
ting (4), fully tightening the ring nut.
