NOTE: The welding helmet airduct tube is REVERSE threaded onto the welding helmet air delivery flange. Turn clockwise to remove.
d. To reattach the welding helmet airduct tube, thread it onto the welding helmet air distribution flange by turning counterclockwise. Thread the
airduct tube onto the welding helmet using two (2) full rotations or until it is snug (Fig. 23b).
e. Reattach the airduct tube holder according to the "Connecting and Disconnecting Breathing Tubes" in the "Operating Instructions" section.
8. PAPR blower unit or SAR device: Inspect according to the User Instructions for your specific air source.
If you discover any signs of wear and/or damage, remove the welding helmet from use and service or replace as appropriate. Failure to do so may
affect respirator performance, reduce the degree of protection provided and lead to serious bodily injury, sickness or death.
REPLACEMENT PARTS & ACCESSORIES
1. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce the capability of the welding helmet clear grinding visor to withstand impact and penetration
and may result in serious bodily injury or death:
a. Ensure the clear grinding visor is firmly seated into the 4 retaining slots and that the visor frame is snapped at the 4 locations and flush
around the entire perimeter.
b. Replace worn or damaged parts.
c. Always wear secondary eye protection for a grinding shield system that may be raised in the field.
2. Failure to attach the Large Head Cover and the Large Neck Shroud correctly and/or seal the hoop & loop when the welding helmet
is worn may reduce the respirator performance. The Large Head Cover and the Large Neck Shroud come as a kit to increase the Assigned
Protection Factor from 25x to 1000x. Improper use may result in serious bodily injury, sickness or death.
3. Failure to follow these instructions may reduce respirator performance, overexpose you to contaminants, and may result in serious bodily
injury, sickness or death.
a. Always properly assemble and wear the product with the faceseal assembled.
b. Do not use with parts or accessories other than those manufactured by 3M as described in these User Instructions or on the NIOSH
Approval Label for this respirator.
c. Proper selection, training, use and appropriate maintenance are essential in order for the product to protect the wearer.
d. Properly wear the complete product during all periods of explore.
e. Do not look directly into the task light source.
