f. To don the welding helmet with the shroud, open the hook and loop seal, place the shroud behind the head, lower the welding helmet, tighten
the headgear suspension and seal the hook and loop fastener done the front of the user (Fig. 29g).
NOTE: To achieve the 1000 APF, the Large Head Cover and Large Neck Shroud, must be used together and attached correctly and the hook & look
sealed correctly.
6. Neck Cover – Rigid, Large and Leather: The welding helmet comes preassembled with the rigid neck cover. For other job applications an FR
large fabric or leather neck cover may be substituted. To remove the rigid neck cover:
a. With a finger or thumb, reach inside the jawline of the welding helmet and pry up each of the 4 small clips holding the neck cover in place.
b. When all clips have been disengaged, the neck cover piece may be pulled down off the welding helmet (Fig. 30a).
