Battery replacement
The dry cell batteries need replacement when:

Use the optional AC adaptor only. Playback is possible while the recharge-
able battery is being charged although it takes longer to charge than usual.

Notes on batteries
Rechargeable battery
© Use only the AIWA PB-S5 rechargeable battery.
© Do not charge for more than 24 hours. Overcharging shortens battery
life.
¢ The PB-S5 rechargeable battery can be recharged approximately 300
times.
¢ Recharge soon after the battery wears out.
e When the rechargeable battery which has little power has beeen used or
has been left without use for a long period of time, it may not be
recharged enough. Recharge it for approximately 8 hours.
When the CHARGE indicator of the charger stand does not light up or
Ae up faintly after 8 hours of recharging, continue recharging up to
24
hours.
Dry cell batteries
¢ Do not mix different types of batteries, or an old battery with aa new one.
To prevent the risk of electrolyte leakage or explosions, never recharge
the batteries, apply heat to them, or take them apart.
