ATTENZIONE* : Non lubrificare o passare cera
sui dischi freno per non provocare una perdita
di efficienza dell'impianto frenante con
conseguente rischio di incidente. Pulire il disco
con solventi tipo acetone.
CLEANING
1) Preparation for washing
Before washing, precautions must be taken to keep
water out of the following places:
G Rear opening of the muffler :
- Cover with a plastic bag
secured with rubber bands.
G Clutch and brake levers, hand grips,
engine stop button:
- Cover with plastic bags.
G Air cleaner intake:
- Close up the opening with tape, or stuff in rags.
2) Where to be careful
Avoid spraying water with any great force near
the following places:
G Air cleaner
G Under the fuel tank:
If water gets into the ignition coil or into the
spark plug cap, the spark will jump through the
water and be grounded
out. When this happens,the motorcycle will not
start and the affected parts must be wiped dry.
G Fork head, wheel bearings.
G Rear suspension links.
3) After washing
- Remove the plastic bags, and clean the air clea-
ner intake.
- Lubricate the points listed in the Maintenance
Table (P. 286-292).
- Briefly warm-up the engine
- Test the brakes before riding the motorcycle.
WARNING*: Never wax or lubricate the brake
disc. Loss of braking and an accident could re-
sult. Clean the disc with an oilless solvent such
ans acetone. Observe the solvent warnings.

ATTENTION * :
Ne jamais graisser ou cirer les disques des
freins pour ne pas provoquer une perte
d'efficacité dans le système de freinage, car on
court des risques d'accident. Nettoyer le
disque avec solvants, type acétone.
