3. General information
3.3 Classification
Class I medical device with measuring function.
Electrical protection class II (protective insulation, no protective earth
connection)
Application part
The scale is a class 1 medical device with a measuring function. The
medical device is a type B applied part and is intended for direct
contact by the patient. The leakage currents correspond to the
classification of type B applied parts.
3.4 Saftey instructions
This scale is designed for medical use. The user must be familiar with the operati-
on of the scale. Please read the information in the instruction manual carefully be-
fore using the scale. It contains important instructions for the installation, the in-
tended use and the maintenance of the device. The manufacturer is not liable if the
following instructions are not observed. Improper installation will invalidate the
warranty.
The scale is not explosion-proof and must not be used in critical or potentially
f
explosive environments.
When using electrical components under increased safety requirements, the
f
corresponding regulations must be observed.
Electrical connection conditions must correspond to the values printed on the
f
power supply unit.
The scale is designed for indoor operation. Observe the permissible ambient
f
conditions for operation (see technical data). The scale meets the requirements
for electromagnetic compatibility. Exceeding the maximum values specified in
the standards must be avoided.
The scale must be installed in such a way that it can be easily disconnected
f
from the mains at any time. Accessibility to the power socket should be gua-
ranteed at all times.
When moving the scale, the scale must be lifted. The scale must never be pus-
