9. Notes on electromagnetic compatibility
Recommended protective distances between portable and mobile
HF telecommunications equipment and the 6752 series scales
The 6752 series scales are intended for use in the ELECTRONIC ENVIRONMENT specified below. The customer or
the user of the 6752 series scales can help avoid electromagnetic interference by maintaining the minimum distance
between portable and mobile RF telecommunications equipment (transmitters) and the 6752 series scales, depen-
ding on the output line of the communications equipment, as specified below.

For transmitters whose rated power is not specified in the above table, the distance can be determined using the
equation associated with the respective column, where P is the rated power of the transmitter in watts (W) as
specified by the transmitter manufacturer.
NOTE 1:
An additional factor of 10/3 has been used to calculate the recommended separation distance of transmitters in
the frequency range of 80MHz to 2.5 GHz to reduce the likelihood that a mobile/portable communication device
inadvertently introduced into the patient area will cause interference.
NOTE 2:
These guidelines may not be applicable in all cases. The propagation of electromagnetic quantities is affected by
absorption and reflection from buildings, objects and people.
