Machinery Directive
The present risk assessment for the machine / system is used to determine the applicable safety and health requirements
for the machine, taking into account all stages of life. Remaining hazards according to risk assessment must be specified
explicitly in the operating and maintenance instructions, to identify areas of the system accordingly.
The Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health establishes measures for the provision and use of work equipment. It turns
to the operator and specifies the measures for the safe operation of work equipment before and during their operation are
required.
National implementation of similar assets in other European countries can, deviating thereof, set higher or lower
requirements.
Key demands included that the operator must prepare a risk assessment for the operation and use of work equipment and
derive measures for the protection of employees.
The operator must ensure that work equipment is suitable for the conditions at the workplace and operated by adequately
trained personnel, regularly maintained and tested (test intervals - if not specified - are depending on operating conditions,
which are highly dependent on spatial enviroment, also to be set by the operator).
The required assessment shall be done on a regular basis, the required measures have to be implemented in a
reasonable time and tested for effectiveness.
