To use the mechanical lift function the cordless screwdriver is pressed using a bit adapter onto the
adapter of the handwheel and the cordless screwdriver is then slowly and carefully started in order to
avoid slipping the clutch.
When moving upwards the operator must ensure that the connecting element of the guided-type fall
arrester moves automatically too, and that no slack rope formation occurs due to possible jamming of
the fall arrester.
For upwards travel it is recommended to carry along a fully charged spare battery.
The notes on the torque limiter are to be observed (refer chapter 0, general warnings item warnings on
the torque limiter)

17. Maintenance, Transport and Storage
Inspection and maintenance work on all parts of the UNIDRIVE must only be carried out by the
þ
manufacturer's personnel or by persons authorized by him in writing.
Exclusively, only original Mittelmann spare parts must be used.
þ
The equipment must be inspected and maintained at least at 12 months intervals, more regularly if
þ
used frequently, by the manufacturer or a competent person authorized by the manufacturer. The
manufacturer recommends that equipment that is used frequently for work positioning is main-
tained on a weekly basis or after every deployment.
All maintenance and repair work must be recorded in the inspection log book of the operating com-
þ
pany.
Heavy soiling and wear of the lifting gear can adversely affect the functioning of the equipment. For
þ
safety reasons, the lifting gear (rope) must therefore be replaced as required, once the maximum
permissible descending work has been reached, but at the latest after 4 years. Replacement may
be necessary regardless of whether the descending work has been reached. Exclusively only lifting
gear specified by the manufacturer must be used. Replacements must only be carried out by the
manufacturer or by persons authorized by him in writing.
The manufacturer accepts no liability whatsoever for damage or injury resulting from incorrect and
þ
/ or improper service and / or repair work carried out by third parties.
