The equipment must be inspected and maintained at least at 12 months intervals, more regularly if
þ
used frequently, by the manufacturer or a competent person authorized by the manufacturer. The
manufacturer recommends that equipment that is used frequently for work positioning is main-
tained on a weekly basis or after every deployment.
All maintenance and repair work must be recorded in the inspection log book of the operating com-
þ
pany.
Heavy soiling and wear of the lifting gear can adversely affect the functioning of the equipment.
þ
Therefore, for reasons of safety, the lifting gear must be replaced as and when required or at the
latest after 8 years. Exclusively, only lifting gear specified by the manufacturer must be used. Re-
placements must only be carried out by the manufacturer or by persons authorized by him in writing.
The manufacturer accepts no liability whatsoever for damage or injury resulting from incorrect and
þ
/ or improper service and / or repair work carried out by third parties.
Corrosion resistance when used in the open air is to a large extent ensured not only by the selection
þ
of the appropriate materials but also by protective surface coatings, whereby this must be supported
by the appropriate regular maintenance.
Emissions emitted by this machine are only sound pressure values only which lie below 75 dB(A).
þ
Appropriate special precautions must be taken for the transport and storage of the UNIDRIVE. For
þ
this a suitable transport and storage box should be used. In every case here, the operating instruc-
tions of the additional personal protective equipment against falling must be complied with.
12. Important Information
12.1 Testing and Approval of the Device
The UNIDRIVE and its components are type-tested Category III personal protective equipment prod-
ucts against falls. Production of the equipment is subject to monitoring by the accredited certification
body, DEKRA Testing and Certification GmbH with the identification number 0158, Dinnendahlstr. 9,
44809 Bochum.
The UNIDRIVE has been tested and approved as a system. Every change to the system is life-threat-
ening and leads to the loss of the approval and the loss of the liability of the manufacturer.
