1.2 Incorrect and Improper Use
UNIDRIVE must not be used for the transport of more than two people or for the lowering of loads.
The specified load-bearing capacity (maximum 200 kg when used for two people) must not be ex-
ceeded. Every change of use must be approved by the manufacturer.
Application-specific descent procedures must be agreed with the manufacturer. Training in special de-
scent procedures must be carried out by trained instructors certified by the manufacturer.
Every incorrect or improper use of the equipment as well as the non-observance of these original op-
erating instructions shall lead to the exclusion of any liability of the manufacturer.
1.3 Keeping an Inspection Log Book
The manufacturer recommends that the operating company keeps an inspection log book with the fol-
lowing entries:
Date and name of the trained operator of the UNIDRIVE

Recording of incidents and actions taken

Date and results report of regular periodic inspections

Description of the Descender Device
The UNIDRIVE descender device consists of the device itself and the sheathed core rope already per-
manently fitted in the device. An approved karabiner is worked into both ends of the rope for use as a
descender device. The use of other components or the replacement of individual parts of these com-
ponents is forbidden and shall lead to the immediate exclusion of any liability of the manufacturer.
The Mittelmann MKA20 E Klick Fit full body harness is the recommended full body harness. With this
combination, the body of the user is so held and supported that comfortable hanging during descent
procedures is made possible. (Use exclusively anchor eyelets (marked with "A"))
All other full body or rescue harnesses approved in accordance with EN 361 and EN 1497 can be
used for descent procedures.
