Increased engine speed for too long with the chain
brake locked will damage the engine and the chain
drive.
If the saw chain still moves, contact the customer ser-
vice.
9.1.1
Activating the chain brake/front hand
guard (6)
1. Do not tilt the chain brake/front hand guard (6) in the
direction of the guide bar (8).
9.1.2
Loosening the chain brake/front hand
guard (6)
1. Pull the chain brake/front hand guard (6) in the direc-
tion of the front handle (5).
9.1.3
Checking the chain brake/front hand
guard (6)
1. Loosen the chain brake/front hand guard (6) as de-
scribed under 9.1.2.
2. Hold the chainsaw tight in both hands.
3. Switch the chainsaw on/off as described under 9.2
and Actuating the on/off switch (2).
4. Do not tilt the chain brake/front hand guard (6) in the
direction of the guide bar (8). The saw chain (7) must
stop immediately!
If the saw chain still moves, do not use the product.
There is a danger of injury due to the saw chain con-
tinuing to run. Contact customer service.
9.2
Switching the product on/off and
operating it (Fig. 1, 3, 5)
WARNING
Danger of injury due to kickback!
Never use the product one-handed!
Note:
If the product is not used, the LED on the main switch re-
mains lit for 1 minute. The product is then switched off au-
tomatically.
Note:
The speed can be steplessly controlled by the on/off
switch. The further you press the on/off switch, the higher
the speed.
Switching on
1. Check that there is saw chain oil in the oil tank (14).
2. Pull the blade and chain guard (16) off the guide bar
(8).
3. Loosen the chain brake as described under 9.1.2.
4. Hold the front handle (5) with your left hand and the
rear handle (1) with your right hand. Thumb and fin-
gers must firmly grasp the handles (1, 5).
5. Bring your body and arms into a position in which you
can absorb the kickback forces.
6. Press the main switch (3) until the LED lights up.
7. Press the switch-on lock (12) on the front handle (5)
with your thumb.
8. Press and hold the switch lock (12).
9. To switch on the product, push the on/off switch (2).
10. Release the switch lock (12).
Note:
It is not necessary to keep the switch lock pressed after
starting the product. The switch lock is intended to pre-
vent accidental starting of the product.
Switching off
1. To switch it off, simply release the on/off switch (2).
2. Press the main switch (3) until the LED no longer
lights up.
3. Activate the chain brake as described under 9.1.1.
4. Put on the supplied guide bar and chain guard (16) af-
ter each instance of working with the product.
9.3
Overload protection
In the event of overloading, the battery will switch itself
off. After a cool-down period (time varies), the product
can be switched back on again.
10 Working instructions

Sawing and felling work as well as all related work may
only be carried out by specially trained and briefed per-
sons.
Notes:
Before switching on, make sure that the product does not
touch any objects.
Observe the country-specific regulations for felling work
and obtain information from the relevant authority.
• Make sure that no one can be harmed by the falling
branches and trees.
• Only the persons required for the felling work may be
in the work area.
• Keep the work area at the trunk clear and tidy so that
operators have a safe standing area.
• Keep escape routes clear and tidy in order to be able
to leave the work area quickly.
• Do not carry out felling work in stronger wind condi-
tions, bad weather or poor visibility.
• Keep distances to the nearest workplace of at least 2
1/2 tree lengths.
