Before Use
WARNING: Ensure the saw table is switched OFF and disconnected
from the power supply before attaching or changing any accessories,
inserting or removing modules, or making any adjustments.
WARNING: ALWAYS wear suitable cut-proof gloves when handling
the saw blade. Not doing so may result in cuts or harm to the operator.
Module levelling screw installation
• Place the Contractor Saw Module on a secure flat surface, and install
the Module Levelling Bobbin Screws (36) and Module Levelling
Screws (32) as depicted in Fig. I
Installing & removing the module
WARNING: When carrying the Contractor Saw Module, use the Hand
Slots (35).
Module installation
WARNING: Lower the Saw Blade (8) to a safe height position before
installing or removing the Contractor Saw Module.
WARNING: Some modules are heavy, especially with power tools
installed. ALWAYS grip the module using the Hand Slots (35), ensuring
secure footing and upright positioning. Avoid awkward movements
when removing and fitting modules.
WARNING: Do not place fingers and/or body parts between the
module and the Workcentre chassis (See Fig. II).
• Slide the Module Locator Tabs (9) into the Module Mounting Tracks
Guide and carefully lower the module into place see (Fig. II)
• Toggle both Module Locks into the locked position (Fig. III)
• Install the Hand-Slot Covers (73) into the Hand Slot (35) voids and fix
in place into the Hand-Slot Cover Screw Holes (7) (Fig. III) using the
screws (supplied) and a Phillips head screwdriver (not supplied)
Note: Ensure the Module Levelling Bobbin Screws (36), are correctly
located in the bobbin locators. The Module Levelling Screws (32) need
to be adjusted to remove play between the module and the Workcentre
chassis.
Module removal
• Unscrew the Hand-Slot Covers by removing the screws from Hand-
Slot Cover Screw Holes (7) and remove (Fig. III)
• Toggle the Module Locks into the 'unlocked' position. Lift the module
from the chassis using the Hand Slots (35), and slide the Module
Locator Tabs (9) from the Module Mounting Guide Tracks (see Fig. II)
Levelling table modules
• Level the module by adjusting the Module Levelling Bobbin Screws
(36), and Module Levelling Screws (32) in the order depicted in
Fig. IV
• Check the module is level with the workcentre table surface using
a straight edge, as depicted in Fig. V. If the module is still uneven,
repeat the above process
Assembling the Contractor Saw Module
• See Figures I – XXII combined with the information below to
assemble the Contractor Saw Module.
Riving knife installation
WARNING: Ensure the Riving Knife (13) is correctly locked into place
before use.
IMPORTANT: The Saw Blade (8) comes pre-fitted to the tool. Ensure the
blade is installed correctly and all fixings are tight before using the saw.
1. With the Saw Blade (8) in the 0° position and after releasing the
Blade Height Lock (3), raise the blade to its maximum height using
the Blade Height Winder (1)
2. Unlock the Kerf Plate Lock (20) and use the Kerf Plate Access Hole
(33) to lift and remove the plate (Fig. VI)
3. Ensure the Riving Knife Locking Lever (37) is in the unlocked
position then slot the Riving Knife (13) into the fixing bracket,
aligning the holes on the Riving Knife on the locating pins
(Fig. VII / 1)
Note: The highest Riving Knife setting allows for the Anti-Kickback
and Blade Guard installation. The lower Riving Knife setting is for non-
through cutting and will not allow the guard or
anti-kickback installation.
4. Turn the Riving Knife Locking Lever to lock the Riving Knife in place
(Fig. VII / 2-3)
Riving knife alignment
Note: The riving knife is fixed with a Riving Knife Locking Lever (37) to
an adjustable bracket, which movement is on an arc aligned to the saw
blade and is lowered or raised along with the blade. When aligning
the riving knife, ensure there is equal space between the riving knife
edge and the blade's teeth from the top part of the arc to bottom part
of the arc, which will show that the riving knife is correctly aligned to
the saw blade.
VI)
3. Ensure the Riving Knife Locking Lever (37) is in the unlocked
position
4. Loosen the Riving Knife Alignment Screws (74) with a hex key
5. Place two straight edges, for example a ruler against the sides of the
Saw Blade (8) and the Riving Knife (13) to ensure they are aligned
6. Remove the straight edges and tighten the Riving Knife Alignment
Screws
7. Check the Riving Knife is aligned with the Saw Blade by lowering
the blade to its lowest height then raising the blade to its maximum
height, ensuring no contact between blade and riving knife
Note: The blade and Riving Knife should not touch; there should always
be equal space between the knife and the blade's teeth on the full
length of the arc.
8. If the Riving Knife is not aligned, repeat steps above until aligned
9. Replace the Kerf Plate
Kerf plate levelling
WARNING: Ensure the Kerf Plate (29) is installed and levelled
correctly before use.
1. Level the Kerf Plate by adjusting the Kerf Plate Levelling Screws (38),
which are accessible through the Kerf Plate Levelling Screw Holes
(31)
2. Check the Kerf Plate is level against the surrounding Module Table
Surface (34) using a straight edge
3. If the Kerf Plate is still uneven, repeat the above process
