in accordance with the markings on the saw. See specification section.
Note: Refer to Fig. VIII when calibrating the Saw Blade (8).
1. Raise the Saw Blade to its maximum height by unlocking the Blade
Height Lock (3) and using the Blade Height Winder (1)
2. Lock the Blade Height Lock
3. Unlock the Bevel Angle Locking Lever (4) and use the Bevel Angle
Adjuster (2) to adjust the Saw Blade (8) so it is perpendicular to the
Module Table Surface (34)
4. Place a set square (not provided) flat against the Module Table
Surface and the blade

Anti-kickback & blade guard installation
IMPORTANT: Ensure the Riving knife (13) is installed on the highest
setting, and fully aligned with the Saw Blade (8) before installing the
Anti-Kickback Pawls (14) and Blade Guard (11). Failing to do so could
result in the Blade Guard being damaged due to misalignment.
Note: The Anti-Kickback Pawls must be installed prior to installing the
Blade Guard.
EN
Anti-Kickback:
1. To install the Anti-Kickback Pawls, unlock the Anti-Kickback Locking
Pin Lever (24) (Fig. IX / 1) then align the Anti-Kickback Locating Lever
(23) above the Anti-Kickback Slot (21) (Fig. IX / 2) in the Riving Knife
(13)
2. Push the Anti-Kickback Pawl onto the Riving Knife with the Locating
Lever pressing down (Fig. IX / 3) then lock the Locking Pin Lever back
into place (Fig. IX / 4)
28
3. Check that the locking pin has engaged with the Riving Knife and
the pawl cannot be removed by lifting the Locating Lever
Blade Guard:
1. Position the Blade Guard (11) assembly above the Riving Knife (13)
and align the Front and Rear Blade Guard Locating Pins (26-27)
above their corresponding Blade Guard Slots (22) on the Riving
Knife (Fig. X / 1-2)
2. Unlock the Blade Guard Locking Lever (25) (Fig. X / 2)
3. Tilt the back toward the Riving Knife so the side guard and Front
Blade Guard Cover (10) leans back, then press the Blade Guard
Locating Rear Pin (27) into the rear Blade Guard Slot (Fig. X / 3)
4. With that pin located in the slot correctly, keep the Front Blade Guard
Cover pressed in toward the Saw Blade (8) and press the Blade
Guard down to locate the Blade Guard Locating Front Pin (26) into
the front Blade Guard Slot on the Riving Knife (Fig. X / 4-5)
5. Once both Blade Guard Locating Pins are locating correctly in the
Blade Guard Slots in the Riving Knife, lock the Blade Guard Locking
Lever (Fig. X / 6) to secure the Blade Guard in place
6. Check that the Blade Guard cannot be removed by lifting it from the
Riving Knife
WARNING: Always check the free movement of the Blade Guard
before using the Contractor Saw. To check, lift the front of the Blade
Guard up and down several times. There will be a small amount of
play inside movement, but never excessive. If there is any resistance
or obstruction and the blade guard does not move freely, remove the
blade guard, inspect, and reinstall. There should be absolutely no
connection of the Blade Guard assembly with the Saw Blade. If there is
still a problem with the Blade Guard after reinstalling, do not use the
Contractor Saw and contact the manufacturer or their agent.
Rip fence assembly
1. Attach each of the Rip Fence Side Arms (58) to the Rip Fence Back
Bar (60) using 2 x Rip Fence Frame Fixing Bolts (61) for each side
(Fig. XI)
2. If fitted, remove any locking levers already located on the
Workcentre guides
3. Slide the Rip Fence Side Arms into the guides on the Workcentre
chassis (Fig. XII)
Note: The Rip Fence frame can be mounted on either side of the
workcentre.
4. Remove the plastic cover on the end of one of the Rip Fence Side
Arm and slide a Rip Fence Side Arm Clamp (67) into the underside
of the Rip Fence Side Arm (Fig. XIII)
Note: The handle, when in the open position, should face outwards
from the Workcentre
5. Replace the plastic cover
6. Repeat steps 4 – 5 for the other Rip Fence Side Arm
7. Push the handles of the Rip Fence Side Arm Clamps down, to lock
the Rip Fence (59) frame in position
Note: If the Workcentre is fitted with the optional Rugged Transit Kit,
ensure the Rip Fence Side Arm Clamp is positioned so that it does not
interfere with Rugged Transit Kit handle.
8. Slot the Rip Fence onto the Rip Fence Side Arm (Fig. XIV) and lock
into place by pushing down on the Rip Fence Clamp Lever
Tensioning the fence clamp
The Rip Fence (59) should fit firmly on the Rip Fence Side Arm (58) with
no lateral play, yet should not be so tight as to restrict the movement on
the Rip Fence Side Arm when the Rip Fence Clamp Lever (63) is in the
released position.
