KEY HOLD
BEFORE OPERATION
Turning On/Off the Unit
There is no power switch on the unit. The power
is automatically turned on and the display window
lights up when the EJECT switch is slid or the
BIT PLAY/PAUSE,
>>I FF or Kd REW but-
ton is pressed.

If the unit is not operated for 15 seconds in the
stop mode, the display window is turned off and
the power is turned off (auto power save function).
HOLD switch —> [EY
The
HOLD
switch
prevents the unit from
misoperation due to touching the buttons on the
main unit and on the remote control while carrying
the unit.
Slide the KEY HOLD switch on the main unit in
the direction of the arrow —> to lock the buttons
on the main unit. @
Slide the HOLD switch on the remote control in
the direction of the arrow. <= to lock the buttons
on the remote control. @
When the KEY HOLD switch is on —> [EJ
"HOLd?" flashes on the display window if the but-
ton on the main unit is pressed. Release the KEY
HOLD switch before operating the unit.
DAT Tape
Only one side of DAT tape can be used for re-
cording/playback.
With the conventional (analog) 60-minute tape, 30
minutes of recording/playback is possible on each
side, totaling 60 minutes. However, with the DAT
tape, 60 minutes of recording/playback is possible
only on one side.
To avoid erasing by accident
Open the erasure prevention tab. —>
Close the tab before recording or encoding/eras-
ing the subcodes. —> [J
