5.2 Installation

NOTICE
Interference in function
Improper installation can compromise the function of the
BTL and result in increased wear.
► Ensure that the contact surface of the BTL is in full
contact with the mounting surface.
► Completely seal the bore (O-ring 14 × 2 i.a.w.
ISO 3601 and support ring 15 × 18 × 1.4 PTFE
slotted).
5.2.1 Installing a rod
1. Create bore hole and mounting holes (see Preparing
for installation on page 10).
2. Guide rod with plug-in flange through the bore hole.
3. Fasten sensor housing with 4 cylinder screws
(ISO 4762, M8 × 20 - A2-70) (torque: 17 Nm).

► Install magnet (see Accessories on page 21).
► When using multiple magnets a minimum separation of
65 mm must be maintained between them.

► From measuring length of 500 mm: Support the rod
and if necessary screw on at the end.

5.2.2 Installing the connection housing
1. Screw connection housing to mounting bracket
(torque: 2.5 Nm).
2. Install mounting bracket at desired location.
3. Properly lay cable from sensor housing to connection
housing.
