To examine and clean the trimmer head
1. Push the tabs (A) to remove the lower half
(B) of the trimmer head.

2. Remove the spool (C).
3. Remove and discard any pieces of trimmer
line and any unwanted material from the
trimmer head and spool.
4. Put the spool in the lower half.
5. Attach the top half (D). Make sure that all
parts are in the correct position and are
correctly aligned.
6. Turn the assembled trimmer head with
your hand. Make sure that the top and
bottom halves are fully closed and the tabs
are fully engaged.
7. To replace the trimmer line see
the trimmer line on page 19 .
Bevel gear
The bevel gear is filled to ¾ with grease
at the factory. Before you use the product,

Grass or unwanted materi-
al in the trimmer head.
make sure that the grease level has not
changed. Use Husqvarna special grease if
it is necessary to fill up. Do not replace
the grease in the bevel gear. Let servicing
personnel do the repair of the bevel gear.
Two piece-shaft
Apply grease to the end of the drive shaft after
each 30 hours of operation. There is a risk
that the drive shaft ends (splined coupling) on
models with two-piece shafts will seize if they
are not lubricated regularly.
Solution
Disassemble and clean the trimmer
head.
