Safety information for lawn mowers
a) Do not use the lawn mower in poor weather conditions, particularly storms. This reduces the risk of being struck by
lightning.
b) Do thorough checks of the working area to ensure it is free from wildlife. Wild animals may be injured by the lawn
mower when it is running.
c) Do thorough checks of the working area and remove all stones, sticks, wires, bones and other foreign objects.
Ejected parts may lead to injuries.
d) Before using the lawn mower, always check that the mowing blade and mower are not worn or damaged. Worn or
damaged parts increase the risk of injury.
e) Check the grass collector regularly for wear and tear. A worn or damaged grass collector increases the risk of injuries.
f)
Leave the protective covers in place. Protective covers must be fixed in place properly to ensure good operation.
Loose or damaged protective covers, or protective covers that are not functioning correctly, may lead to injuries.
g) Keep the cool air inlet openings free from deposits. Blocked air inlets and deposits may lead to overheating or a risk of
fire.
h) When operating the lawn mower, always wear anti-slip safety shoes. Never work barefoot or with open sandals. This
reduces the risk of a foot injury if contact is made with the rotating mowing blade.
i)
When operating the lawn mower, always wear long trousers. Bare skin increases the likelihood of injuries caused by
ejected objects.
j)
Do not operate the lawn mower on wet grass. Always walk, never run. This reduces the risk of slipping and falling, which
could lead to injuries.
k) Do not operate the lawn mower on excessively steep slopes. This reduces the risk of losing control, slipping and falling,
which could lead to injuries.
l)
When working on hillsides, ensure you have a firm stance; always work at right angles to the slope, never straight
up or down, and be extremely careful when changing your working direction. This reduces the risk of losing control,
slipping and falling, which could lead to injuries.
m) Be especially careful when mowing backwards or when you pull the lawn mower towards you. Always pay attention
to your surroundings. This reduces the risk of tripping while working.
n) Do not touch any blades or other dangerous parts which are still moving. This reduces the risk of injury from moving
parts.
Ensure that all switches are switched off and that the battery is disconnected before removing any trapped material or
cleaning the lawn mower. Unexpected operation of the lawn mower may lead to serious injuries.
