Device Description

The PE2 pressure switch is used as a switch in signaling, control, and regulation circuits.
It monitors the applied relative pressure and converts it, depending on the PE2 version, into a
digital switch signal, into two digital switch signals, or into a digital and/or analog current signal.
The switching behavior is presented in Figs.

Assembly
System is operating under voltage and pressure!
Working on the system when under electrical voltage and pressure could lead to injuries and
damage the PE2.
O
Make sure the relevant system component is not under pressure or voltage before
assembling or disassembling the PE2.
O
Before assembly, exhaust the relevant system components.
O
Assembly work may only be carried out by trained professionals.
O
Pay particular attention to the valid and relevant local safety regulations.
Connecting the pneumatics
O
Comply with the limits for pressure and temperature (see "10 Technical Data").
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
2. Connect the pressure switch with the pressure system:
– Flange connection M5: MA = 2.5+0.5 Nm
– Connection G1/4, MA = 12+1 Nm
Electrical connection
Use pre-assembled plug connections and cables to connect the modules.
O
Observe the pin assignments (see Fig.
and cables.
To electrically connect the PE2:
O
Attach the M12x1 connector on the connecting cable to the device plug.
O
Observe the relevant DIN/VDE regulations, as well as country-specific regulations.
Operation without sufficient grounding is not permissible.
