5. Select the cutting height (1–6) with the cutting height
lever.
6. Move the lift lever forward to lower the cutting deck.
7. Pull the PTO button out to engage the drive on the
cutting deck blades.

Reduced power mode, P 524EFI

If the engine malfunctions, the engine speed
automatically decreases to low idle speed and the
warning light for engine malfunction (A) comes on. See
Troubleshooting on page 40 for possible causes of the
malfunction.

To stop the engine

1. Release the speed pedals.

2. Push the PTO button in to disengage the drive on
the cutting deck blades.
3. Operate the engine at idle speed for 1 minute to
decrease the engine temperature.
4. Pull the lift lever for the cutting deck rearward to lift
up the cutting deck.
5. Move the throttle control forward to the MIN.

6. Turn the ignition key to the STOP position.
7. When the product stops, apply the parking brake.

To apply and release the parking brake

1. Press the parking brake pedal down (A).
