PUMP1000-2,2L and PUMP1000-5L-AIR must con-
form to a minimum bending radius of 70 mm, while
the hoses for PUMP4000-1,6L must conform to a
minimum bending radius of 200 mm. Before the hy-
draulic hose is connected, all the coupling parts for
the hose as well as the hydraulic pump and con-
sumer device must be cleaned. Before commission-
ing of the pump, the hydraulic pump must be
checked for damage. If cracks in the hose become
visible during operation, the pressure must be re-
leased without delay. Do not touch the hose under
any circumstances.
The maximum permissible operating pressure of
the hydraulic hose and the date of manufacture
(month, year) are printed on the hose. The higher
pressure value on the hydraulic hose is not the
maximum operating pressure p
pressure of the hose. The maximum permissible op-
erating pressure must never be exceeded.
During operation, the manometer must be continu-
ally monitored. The hydraulic hose may be used up
to a maximum of 6 years from the date of manufac-
ture. The hydraulic hose may only be disconnected
when it is unpressurised.
Hydraulic oil
The hydraulic oil used in operation must be clean
and of the specified viscosity grade u36. Contami-
nated hydraulic oil can damage the seals and cause
malfunctions. Damaged seals must be replaced
promptly. Only clean hydraulic oil may be used.
Severe burns due to ignition of hydraulic oil. Avoid
sources of ignition, including in particular cutting,
welding and soldering work, in the vicinity of escap-
ing hydraulic oil.
Hydraulic oil can cause irritation to skin and res-
piratory organs. Avoid skin contact as far as possi-
ble. Safety gloves must be worn. Uncovered skin
must be protected by means of skin cream. Do not
inhale vapours or fumes.
Risk of slippage due to escape of hydraulic oil. Even
the smallest quantities of escaped hydraulic oil
must be removed. Leakages of hydraulic fluids must
be directed away such that there is no hazard to
persons and the environment. Non-slip safety
shoes must be worn.
Hydraulic oil is an environmental hazard. Hydraulic
oil must be collected and disposed of correctly or
sent for recycling. Any old oil or indirect process
materials must be disposed of in accordance with
the appropriate safety datasheets from the lubri-
cant manufacturer. Additional materials must be
disposed of correctly if they contain oil, such as
cleaning cloths in special waste. The legal require-
ments must be observed.

Residual hazards
Risk of injury due to spraying of hydraulic oil if:
the hose line between the hydraulic pump and
v
the consumer device (e. g. hydraulic nut) is not
connected as specified
the coupling sleeve or coupling nipple are not
v
correctly connected or are damaged
the hydraulic pump is subjected to pressure and
v
the hydraulic hose is removed from the pump
body or the consumer device
the hydraulic hose is removed immediately after
v
the application and the load circuit is not yet
completely relieved of pressure.
Airborne sound emission
The airborne sound emission of the compressed
air-driven pump PUMP1000-5L-AIR is classified as
follows:
L
= 80 dB(A) – L
eq
pC
L
= A-weighted emission sound pressure level
eq
(continuously in operation)
L
= C-weighted emission sound pressure level
pC
(occurring briefly in operation)
At a high sound pressure level, hearing damage
is possible. During operation of the
PUMP1000-5L-AIR, hearing protection must be
worn.
Safety signs on hydraulic pumps
Safety and warning signs corresponding to the haz-
ards are applied to the hydraulic pump. All guide-
lines must be additionally observed when using the
hydraulic pump.
