Description

FlexFilter EX is designed to filter potentially combusti-
ble dusts in a high vacuum system and it complies with
the ATEX directive .
It is recommended that the FlexFilter EX is placed
outdoors . Installation indoors is not recommended
when the FlexFilter EX is equipped with explosion
relief panel .
The dust separators can be fitted with different acces-
sories (see chapter "Main parts") .
The FlexFilter EX (see picture no. 1 / A) is the filtration
unit of the system and needs to be connected to a
suction source like the Nederman VAC or RBU .
(see picture no . 1 / B) and a control system like the
Nederman HV Control Panel .
Picture no . 1 shows a general vacuum system with the
following components;
A) FlexFilter EX
B) Suction source
C) Pipe (clean side)
D) Pressure resistant pipe
E) Isolation device
F) Main duct system
G) Duct system branches
NOTE! There are several different models of the
FlexFilter EX so the images in this manual may differ
slightly from your model .

Main parts

Dust separators

The dust separator filters the dust from the processed
air . There are two standard types of dust separators .
Single (one filter)
Twin (two filters)
The dust separators are modular in their design . The
dust separator is equipped with an explosion relief
panel, but other types of explosion protection meas-
ures are available . See chapter "Explosion protection"
for more information .
The dust separator is equipped with a pressure equal-
ized bin collecting the dust material in a plastic bag.

7 . Control filter.
8 . Connection pipe/RF valve (accessory) .

Accessories

Deflector
The FlexFilter EX with relief panel can be equipped
with a deflector. The deflector alters the risk area. See
chapter "Explosion protection" for more information .
Collecting bags
The FlexFilter EX comes equipped with Nederman
conductive collecting bags (picture no . 23) for collect-
ing the material (included). Other collection methods
may be used if found to be safe in the system risk
analysis .
NOTE! Only use Nederman conductive bags when
collecting combustible material .
Switch for emptying of bin
This accessory works with the control system to in-
crease efficiency when changing bin bags.
Filter alarm
Pressure switch signalling if the pressure over the main
filter exceeds a set value.
Fire alarm
Detects a fire in the filter and signals the control sys-
tem .
Reverse Flow (RF) kit
The Reverse Flow kit (see picture no . 4 / 8) has an
arrangement of valves and uses the capacity of the
vacuum unit to clean one filter module while the other
remains in normal operation . RF is suitable for "hard
to clean dust", or if the vacuum level is insufficient to
generate a powerful blast of air during normal filter
cleaning .
