Compressed air installation

Pneumatic components

Picture no. 19, 20 shows the pneumatic circuit diagram
including the following components .
1 . Connector Solenoid
2 . Solenoid
3 . Solenoid Cleaning Valve (SCV)
4 . Cleaning Cylinder (CC)

Requirements

For air consumption, quality and max and min pres-
sure, see chapter "Technical data".
Note that the specified air consumption of the FlexFil-
ter EX is limited to the short operation of the cleaning
valve . Maximum (short time) consumption is about 700
NL/Min (1400 NL/min FlexFilter EX Twin) .
As new pipes may contain dirt/particles/debris, the
compressed air pipe should be blown clean before
connecting the FlexFilter EX . Use ear protection and
safety goggles!
A compressed air filter (see picture no. 18 / 3) must
be installed to ensure reliable and safe operation of
the FlexFilter EX. A main valve, that bleeds remaining
pressure of the FlexFilter EX, should be installed (see
picture no . 18 / 2) .
NOTE! Take necessary measures to avoid water/hu-
midity in the compressed air when the FlexFilter EX is
installed in cold environments .
NOTE! If anti freeze additives are used, ensure con-
tinuos use. Once added, the removal of anti freeze
additive can cause malfunction of the pneumatic
components .
NOTE! To avoid personal injuries during maintenance,
the main valve should be locked in closed position .
It is recommended that a pressure switch, warning
for insufficient pressure, is connected to the control
system .

Installation

Connect a compressed air supply to the inlet on the
leg (see picture no . 18 / A) . The inlet bracket can be
repositioned to the opposite leg if necessary .

Earth control measurement

Proper earth connection shall be checked after both
main installation and regular maintenance work . If a
component, such as for example the top module, is re-
moved and refitted, earth connection must be verified.

Control measuring

A suitable measuring instrument must be used .
Earth connection is measured between GND1 and the
following components on FlexFilter EX (see picture no .
22):
1 . High top ring
2 . Low top ring
3 . Pressure relief panel
4 . High inlet ring
5 . Low inlet ring
6 . Bin
7 . On the filter bags
8 . Control filter
NOTE! Make sure there is contact between the meas-
ure points and the instrument .
1 . NOTE! The duct systems (in- and outlet) must not
be connected .
A
Disconnect the net earth from GND 1 .
B
Measure between all components according
to the list above (see picture no . 22) and
GND 1 (≤100 Ω).
C
Measure and check if contact between incom-
ing duct system and the free coupled incom-
ing net earth ( ≤10^5 Ω).
2 . Connect incoming duct system .
Make sure that there is a 2nd earth connection be-
tween the duct system and FlexFilter EX and that
it is properly earthed to the FlexFilter EX .
A) Measure and check if contact between GND1
and external net earth ( ≤10^5 Ω).
B) Reconnect net earth to GND1 .
3 . Connect outgoing duct system (make sure that
there is an earth connection between the duct
system and FlexFilter EX) .
