Controls

- Operation and control panel- 25:
Displays the measured values and enables necessary
information to be inputted.
- Weight tray 26:
Container for various weights.
- Main switch 27:
Switches the machine on and off.
- Wheel guard 28
(not for BM 11)
Protects the user from possible dangers in connection
with the rotating wheel.
- Outside measurement gauge (optional) 29:
Measures direct the width and enables the positioning
of balance weights in the correct position on the out-
side of the rim.
- Main shaft with clamping means. 30:
Main shaft with removable clamping means (except
BM 50-2). Various types of clamping means can be
secured to the main shaft by use of a central securing
bolt.
The extend of delivery contains the mid centering de-
vice, quick nut, pressure cup, spacer and 3 cones.
- Inside gauge 31:
Enables the positioning of the balance weights on the
inside of the rim and also calculates the distance bet-
ween the machine and the left rim of the wheel.
From BM 11 upwards it calculates the radius of the rim,
which is saved in the program memory but not directly
shown on the display.
In the balancing programs ALU 2 and ALU 3 the in-
side gauge is used to  nd the second stick on weight
placement position when the corresponding program
has been chosen.
- Quick span 32:
Automatic clamping of the wheel, only available on
BM 50-2. The wheel is pneumatically clamped after
placing in position on the mains haft and operating
the foot pedal.

Keyboard / Key functions

Button 4/5:
Manual Input of distance between machine and rim
 ange. Use the +/- button to change the value in
increments of 1 mm.
The display is in mm and shown as follows
distance A = 160 mm
Button 6/7:
Manual Input of rim width.
Use the +/- button to change the value in incre-
ments of 0, 5 inch (mm in case of PAX programs).
Usually the display is inches and shown as follows:
rim width b = 5 Zoll
Button 8/9:
Manual Input of rim diameter.
Use the +/- button to change the value in incre-
ments of 0, 5 inch (mm in case of PAX programs).
Usually the display is inches and shown as follows:
rim diameter d = 15 Zoll
Button 10:
Starts the balancing, calibrating and Zero run.
Button 11:
Cancels enabled function.
In case of no active function, pressing the button 11
will enable/disable the axis holding brake which is
shown by lamp 23.
Button 12:
Use this key to con rm a function input. If there is no
active function, you will be guided to the menu op-
tions. Press +/- button 4/5 to call up the menu func-
tions F1 to F9.
