1.1 Construction and Function

The 6A50 AeroLink Connector is a connecting element with integrated vacu­
um system for passively or actively generated negative pressure. The Aer­
oLink Connector is installed in an outer socket while the smooth pin with
integrated exhaust valve is threaded into an inner socket. The patient pulls
the inner socket over the liner and then the outer socket over the inner sock­
et. A vacuum is generated because the air between the liner and inner sock­
et is discharged through the pin and the exhaust valve prevents it from flow­
ing back in. At the same time, the pin secures the inner socket in the outer
socket. The AeroLink Connector is also equipped with a hose connection for
straightforward connection to a Harmony vacuum pump.
