Contact with defective electrical components
Risk of injury due to electric shock
Conduct a visual inspection before touching electrical components.
Do not use damaged electrical components.
5.1.1 Inserting or Changing Batteries
The vacuum pump is operated with 2 rechargeable NiMH batteries, size AA. Operation with the
supplied batteries is recommended by the manufacturer. Alternatively the product can be oper

Required materials: Torx T8 screwdriver, 2 batteries (size AA), torque wrench adjustable to
>
0.5 Nm
Prerequisite: Battery charger is disconnected
>

5.1.2 Charging the Batteries

NOTICE
Charging non-chargeable batteries
Damage to the product due to battery leakage
Only connect the product to the battery charger when you are using rechargeable batteries.
INFORMATION
Rechargeable batteries lose capacity over the course of repeated charging cycles. This is a nor
mal process.
Replace the batteries when the operating time of the product decreases noticeably.
Depending on the performance of the batteries, the vacuum level and patient activity, the battery
capacity of the vacuum pump is 2 to 3 days. The manufacturer recommends charging the batter
ies daily. A complete charging cycle takes 4 to 6 hours. Remove the vacuum pump from the
product or take off the prosthesis during the charging process. The battery charge level is indic
ated by signals shown in the table.
Assembling the Battery Charger
1) Connect the chosen adapter plug to the power supply (see fig. 8).
