REMEMBER THAT EXHAUST GASES ARE
TOXIC.
WARNING
- Before starting the engine, check the
correct operation of the controls.
- Do not touch the muffler or the engine
while it is running or immediately after
stopping it. These parts can become very
hot.
- Do not leave the machine unattended with
the engine running. Stop the engine
whenever you leave the machine, before
refueling and before any maintenance or
cleaning.
- Do not tamper in any way with the safety
devices. Do not use the machine if the
safety devices are not perfectly efficient.
- Never wrap the starter cord around your
hand.
WARNING - To start up the machine, you
must stand in the area indicated (Fig. 5).
Before starting the engine:
- open the fuel stop-cock (Honda) (A, Fig.6).
- Move the gearshift lever (A) to the neutral
position N (Fig.7)
- Do not lower the clutch lever (1, Fig.2) to
make sure that the brakes are activated.
- Move the speed control lever in the
"STARTER" control position (A, Figure 8) in the
case of a cold start, or between "SLOW" and
"FAST" if the engine is already warm (Fig. 9).
- Only for Emak engine: turn the power off
lever (B) to the position shown in Fig.10.
WARNING! FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
O N T H E S TA R T- U P P R O C E D U R E ,
CAREFULLY READ THE ENGINE MANUAL.
When the engine has star ted, move the
accelerator to "SLOW" (A, Fig. 11).
CAUTION
- The choke must be closed as soon as the
engine is running smoothly. Using it when
the engine is already warm can foul the spark
plug and cause the engine to run erratically.
- To start work, bring the throttle lever to the
FAST position (A, Fig. 12), taking care not to
reach the limit position, which would
otherwise activate the choke and potentially
cause the engine to flood.
How to start in forward or reverse
1. Put the gear shift lever (8, Figure 2) to the
desired position, F1 - F2 forward, R1 - R2
reverse.
2. Increase the engine speed slowly using the
accelerator (3).
3. Gradually lower the clutch lever (1). The
machine will begin to move forward or
backward slowly.
