ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS IN MDS-DIGITAL INSTALLATIONS
The installation of Kits (Avisa and Detecta4) in MDS installations offers a series of additional functions,
described below.
MDS-Digital Installation with Digital Guard Unit:
For the alarm alerts to be shown in a guard unit, it must be configured in panic mode. When it is active, the decoder
retransmits the alarm alerts to the decoder bus.
This means that for an alarm event to reach the guard unit, it must be in panic mode (day panic mode) and the alarm
zones in the system enabled and general arming armed.
For those areas defined as "24-hour zones", it is enough if the system is enabled for the alerts to be received in the guard
unit. (Only zones 3 and 4 can be defined as "24-hour zones").
If you wish to take full advantage of the alarms management possibilities of the system, it is advisable to use a central
guard unit (MDS Digital system) configured as panic guard unit or a guard unit on PC.
With the guard unit in day panic mode, the decoders retransmit the active sensor and panic alerts to the panel. The
concierge will also see a message on the display, if a sabotage attempt is detected in the decoder-telephones section
(or any anomalous function).
It is possible to assign (edit) the message that is shown in the guard unit when an alarm goes off in any of the zones, by
means of the WinCom Plus software, in the message table (SeeWincom Plus Manual):
· Message nº 0: Corresponds to a situation where the Monitor does not respond to the queries from Decoder
2H. This situation may arise when at the terminals S and S-, where the Monitor is connected, there is a short
circuit, an open circuit, sabotage, etc...
· Message nº 1: Alarm message in zone 1.
· Message nº 2: Alarm message in zone 2.
· Message nº 3: Alarm message in zone 3.
· Message nº 4: Alarm message in zone 4.
· Message nº 5: Tamper activation message.
On the display of the panic guard unit, the message associated to this zone appears (if configured previously)
along with the number of the monitor where the alarm originated. The alarm queue capacity is 20. To delete an alarm
from the queue, the concierge simply has to press the # button in the guard unit (MDS Digital Desktop Guard Unit) or
button B ( MDS Digital Wall-mounted Guard Unit).
Message from Guard Unit
The guard unit can also inform the user that there is a message for them (for example, an unattended visit). To do so, all
they need to do from the guard unit is enter the monitor number of the home in question and then the key with the date on
the left (this can also be done from a PC guard unit , using the corresponding menu).
At this point, the yellow LED on the user's monitor will blink slowly (or quickly, if the Do Not Disturb function is activated at
the same time).
To deactivate the signal, simply make a call to the guard unit.
