Many settings and adjustment options are
available on the menu (p. 45).
When you want to record images in
dim light, set the STD/LOW LUX/
NIGHTSHOT switch to LOW LUX.
appears, and images will be recorded
brighter than if you do not use LOW LUX.
When you set the STD/LOW LUX/
NIGHTSHOT switch to NIGHTSHOT, []
appears, and you can record images ew.n in
total darkness.
Set the STD/LOW LUX/NIGHTSHOT
switch to STD when recording in normal
ambient light.
• Using NIGHTSHOT in bright places will cause
a malfimction of your camcorder.

It is conw.nient to make manual
adjustments using the MANUAL dial, by
assigning a menu item ([FOCUS] in the
default setting) to the MANUAL dial.

Howto use the MANUAL dial
Press MANUAL to switch to manual
operation mode, and rotate the dial to
make the adjustment. Pressing MANUAL
switches the operation mode between
manual and automatic.
To assign a menu item
Press and hold MANUAL tor a fbw seconds
to display the [DIAL SETTING] screen.
Rotate the MANUAL dial to assign an item.
You can assign [FOCUS], [EXPOSURE],
[AE SHIFT], or [WB SHIFT].
Attach the tripod (sold separately) to the
tripod receptacle using a tripod screw (sold
separately, the length of the screw nmst be
less than 5.5 mm (7/32 in.)).
