4. For NV and CV machines follow the steps outlined in Section
I below. For DB machines follow the steps in Section III.
I.
This section is for CV and NV.
A) Insert a clean (39) Muffler all the way into the chamber of the
(40) Muffler Housing. Press the (38) Muffler into the bore of
the Muffler Housing.
B) Screw the (40) Muffler Housing assembly into the (29)
Housing until hand tight. Use a 21 mm socket/torque wrench
combination to torque the Muffler Housing. See "Parts Page"
for torque settings. For NV machines move onto C. For CV
machines move onto Section II.
C) Install the (34) 77 mm (3 in.) Non-Vacuum Shroud onto the
(29) Housing by working the Shroud over and around the
bottom of the housing flanges. Make sure the alignment slots
on the Housing and tabs on the Shroud are engaged. Move
onto the "Spindle Bearings, AirSHIELD™ and Shaft Balancer
Assembly" section.
II.
This section continued from Section I for CV Exhaust
machines:
A) Install the (35) 77 mm (3 in.) SuperVAC™ CV Shroud on to
the (29) Housing by working the Shroud over and around the
bottom of the housing flanges. Make sure the alignment slots
(on the Housing) and tabs (on the Shroud) are engaged.
B) Slide the inlet end of the (55) SuperVAC™ CV Ø 19 mm
(¾ in.) Swivel Exhaust Assembly (Standard) or the (56)
SuperVAC ™ CV Ø 28 mm (1 in.) Swivel Exhaust Assembly
(Optional) into the exhaust port of the (35) 77 mm (3 in.) Su-
perVAC™ CV Shroud until it hits the stop on the SuperVAC™
CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly. Make sure the key on the
SuperVAC™ CV Swivel Exhaust Assembly bracket is aligned
and engaged with the keyway on the housing.
C) Place the (58) Washer over the (59) Screw. Thread the screw
into the mounting hole of the (55) SuperVAC™ CV Ø 19 mm
(¾ in) Swivel Exhaust Assembly or (56) SuperVAC ™ CV Ø
28 mm (1 in.) Swivel Exhaust Assembly (Optional) and (29)
Housing until the end of the screw is flush with the inside
surface of the Housing. Place the (57) Nut into the cavity
of the Housing and thread the screw into the nut until tight.
Move onto the "Spindle, AirSHIELD™ and Shaft Balancer
Assembly" section.
III. For DB Exhaust machines:
A) Install the (35) 77 mm (3 in.) SuperVAC™ Shroud onto the

tom of the housing flanges. Make sure the alignment slots (on
the Housing) and tabs (on the Shroud) are engaged. Slide
the (54) SuperVAC™ DB Exhaust Adapter Fitting into the
exhaust of the Vacuum Shroud.
B) Lightly grease two (45) O-Rings and place them into the two
grooves in the (46) DB Retainer.
C) Put the (46) DB Retainer into the mounting hole of the (47) Ø
28 mm (1 in.) Hose DB Swivel Exhaust Assembly (Optional)
or the (49) Ø 19 mm (¾ in.) Hose DB Swivel Exhaust Assem-
bly (Standard).
D) Slide the (47 or 49) Swivel Exhaust Assembly into the (54)
SuperVAC™ DB Exhaust Adapter Fitting while at the same
time inserting the (46) DB Retainer Assembly into the (29)
Sander Housing exhaust port. Screw the DB Retainer into the
threaded exhaust port on the Housing with an (MPA0849) 8
mm hex key. See "Parts Page" for torque settings.
Spindle Bearings, AirSHIELD™ and Shaft Balancer As-
sembly:
1. Place the (MPA0209) T-5A Spindle Bearing Pressing Tool
Base onto a flat, clean surface of a small hand press or
equivalent with the spindle pocket facing upward. Place the
(24) Spindle into the spindle pocket with the shaft facing
upwards. See Figures 2 and 3.
2. Place the (22) Washer on the (24) Spindle shaft with the
curve of the Washer facing up so that the outside diameter of
the Washer will contact the outer diameter of the (20) Bear-
ing. Place the (63) Dust Shield onto the Spindle shaft. Place
the (21) Spacer onto the shoulder of the Spindle. Note: Be
sure that the Dust Shield is past the shoulder where Spacer
rests. Place the Bearing (one seal) on the Spindle with the
seal side toward the Washer. Note: Make sure that both the
inner and outer races of the Bearings are supported by the
Bearing Press Tool when pressing them into place. Press the
Bearing onto the shoulder of Spindle using the (MPA0210)
T-5B Spindle Bearing Pressing Tool Top as shown in Figure
3.
3. Place the (19) Shim over the (24) Spindle shaft and onto the
face of the (20) Bearing making sure it is on center. Press the
(no seals/shields) (18) Bearing down using the (MPA0210)
T-5A Spindle Bearing Pressing Tool Top, taking carel to
