3.5.2 Check operation of fan (21)

Fan (21) on the power source is connected to precharge filter board (39), the command
is issued by microswitch board (37) and its operation depends on the condition of the
power source, as described in section 2.3.
TESTING POWER SUPPLY TO FAN (21) (Fig. 3.5.1.a)
□ Power the power source, select MIG process, issue start command for a few
seconds, taking care not to touch the workpiece to be welded with the torch, the fan
comes on.
Ensure that the wiring between J3 of precharge filter board
(39) and fan (21) is intact;
Check wiring between connector J1 of precharge filter
board (39) and J13 of microswitch board (37) is intact
Check on J3 of board (39) at terminals 1-2 that fan supply
voltage = 24 Vdc, if voltage not present, replace
microswitch board (37),
Check on J3 of board (39) at terminals 1-2 that fan supply
voltage = 24 Vdc, if voltage present, replace fan (21),
Make sure that there are no mechanical impediments
blocking the fan

3.5.3 The control panel does not indicate correct values

CHECKING SOFTWARE VERSION.
□ Switch off the power source.
□ Wait 10 sec and power the power source again.
□ Wait for the screen to appear on the LCD display, specifically showing the loaded
software version. Check the software version review index. The screen will be
displayed for a few seconds.
TESTING SUPPLY TO CONTROL BOARD (37) (Fig. 3.5.3.b).
□ Control board (37), connector J15, terminals 1(+) - 2(-) = +24 Vdc
□ Control board (37), connector J15, terminals 3(+) - 4(-) = +15 Vdc
□ Control board (37), check that LEDs L+15V, L-15V, L+3V1 and L+5V are on:
