1. General

H2000
is an extremely sensitive and

selective detector for hydrogen gas (H
It is especially designed for leak detection
using Hydrogen Trace Gas, (Hydrogen
diluted with Nitrogen down to a safe con-
centration), which is the most effective and
economical trace gas for leak testing.
H2000 detects hydrogen in air at
PLUS
atmospheric pressure with no need for
vacuum pumping. It is especially suitable
for applications where high sensitivity and
selectivity are required in combination with
simplicity, reliability and low cost.
The instrument has three main functions:
Detection Mode, Analysis Mode and
Combined mode.
Detection Mode is used when there is a
need to detect and locate a leak quickly.
Analysis Mode is used when there is a re-
quirement to analyse the concentration of
hydrogen gas in the air and thus determine
the size of the leak.
In Detection Mode, the results are shown
as a moving bar and in Analysis Mode
by figures in PPM or some other unit that
the user has selected.
In Combined Mode a moving bar and
). figures are shown. In all three cases the

results are also indicated by an audio signal.
The frequency of the sound depends on the
measured signal, which allows the user to
work without having visual contact with
the display.
H2000
PLUS
powerful functions making it very easy to
integrate in a semi or fully automatic test
system. The functions range from output
of all necessary status signals and printer/
communication port to an advanced Active
Probe Control system (APC) making the
detector capable of controlling advanced
sample collecting devices down to simple
test fixtures. The details of the automation
functions are described in detail in the
Technical Manual.
The panel mount model, H2000-P
has identical features as the H2000
The battery operated model, H2000-C
, has all the H2000
PLUS
from the APC system. This means that only
passive probes (e.g. Hand Probe H50) can
be used. This is due to power management
control. The battery can not support the cur-
rent needed to operate active probes.
