Network Setup

To listen to Internet radio stations or music files stored on your
computer via a wired/wireless network, you need to configure
network settings first.
Network connection
Setting up a wired network connection by using DHCP
Before you set up a network connection, make sure that a LAN/
ETHERNET cable is connected to the ETHERNET port properly and
securely. For details, see "Connecting the LAN/ETHERNET cable" on
page 10.

From the "Settings" menu, select "Network" w "Network
Connect" w "Wired".

After you switch between Wired and Wireless, be sure to

put the unit into standby and then turn it on by pressing the
STANDBY/ON (¤) button on the unit.

Change the following settings if necessary.
Menu item
Description
DHCP
Turn the DHCP function On/Off.
IP Address
Enter an IP Address.
Enter a subnet mask when the DHCP
Subnet Mask
function is turned off.
Enter a gateway when the DHCP
Gateway
function is turned off.
Enter a primary DNS when the DHCP
Primary DNS
function is turned off.
Enter a secondary DNS when the
Secondary DNS
DHCP is turned off.
Proxy
Turn the Proxy function On/Off
Enter a proxy server when the Proxy
Proxy Server
function is turned on.
Enter a proxy port when the Proxy
Proxy Port
function is turned on.
Note
When you set the DHCP to "ON", you do not need to enter an
IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS, etc.
When you set the DHCP to "OFF", you must establish the
network connection manually by entering an IP address, etc.
In this case, some knowledge of networks is required. If you
are unfamiliar with Internet connection settings, contact your
Internet service provider for assistance.

Setting up a wired network connection manually

From the "Settings" menu, select "Network" w "Network
Connect" w "Wired".
After you switch between Wired and Wireless, be sure to

put the unit into standby and then turn it on by pressing the

Select "DHCP", and then select "Off".

Press the LEFT (g ) button to return to the previous
screen, and then select "IP Address".

Select the desired number by pressing the UP or DOWN
( 5 or b ) button.

You can move to the previous or next digit by pressing the

LEFT or RIGHT (g or t) button.

Press the LEFT (g) button to return to the previous menu,
and then enter the Subnet Mask, Gateway, Primary DNS,
and Secondary DNS in the same way as instructed in
steps

above.

When the wired network connection is established properly, the
icon will be displayed.
