9.0 Operating instructions

9.1 Lighting
Note! Odours when using the stove:
When used for the first time, the stove may emit an irritating gas
that may smell a little. The gas is not toxic, but the room should
be thoroughly aired out.
During first-time use, it may take a little while before the gas
reaches out to the stove, but subsequently the stove should
function as described in the lighting instruction.
The stove operates with the aid of a pilot flame, which is lit
manually according to the lighting instructions.
Prior to lighting: Check the area around the stove for possible
gas leaks/odours. Especially check near the floor, since propane/
butane is heavier than air and would gather close to the floor in
the event of a leakage. (Note: Natural gas is lighter than air and
will gather under the ceiling). If you detect an odour of gas, see
warning under: Safety precautions.
Only use your hands to operate the control knobs; do not use
tools. If you are unable to turn or push in the control knob, do
not use force. Call for assistance.
Do not use the stove if any part of it has been submerged in water.
Call for service to replace the parts that have been in water.

9.2 Lighting instructions

Lighting the pilot flame (fig. 9)
1.
The control knobs are located under the stove.
2.
Make sure any gas valve on the pipe to the stove is open.
3.
Make sure the control knob (2) is in the correct position
(max.).
4.
Turn the control knob (1) a little to the left (to «Ignition») until
it stops. Push in and hold it in whilst turning it until you hear
a clicking sound. Repeat this until you see the pilot flame on
the left side below the front coals/log in the burn chamber.
5.
Continue to hold the knob in for approx. 10-15 seconds before
you let it go.
6.
If the pilot flame goes out, turn the control knob back and
try again. Make sure that it is held in firmly for at least 10
seconds after lighting.
7.
Note: It is impossible to turn the gas control knob unless it
is pushed in a little. Do not use force.
8.
Then turn the knob (without pushing it in all the way) to the
position «ON» (picture of big flame).
9.
Note: If the appliance is shut down during operation it may
take up to 2 minutes before the control knob can be turned
from the «OFF» position again. This is a safety feature and
is perfectly normal.
Note: If the gas control knob does not pop out when released,
call for service.
22
Lighting the main burner
Turn the gas control knob to «ON» (picture of big flame).
When the pilot flame will not remain lit
If the pilot flame does not remain lit after several attempts, turn
the gas control knob (1) to «OFF» and call for assistance.
Note! When the stove is used for the first time, condensation
may form in the fire box. Some smoke may also appear from
the during the initial hours, due to the burning off of paint and
lubrication used in the production process. See section Odours
when using the stove for the first time.
9.3 Adjusting heat emission
Make sure the the stove has been running for at least 45 minutes
before adjusting the temperature.
To adjust the temperature, use the knob on the left
(fig. 9-2). The knob has a scale from min. to max.
Turn the knob to desired temperature/heat emission.

9.4 Turning off the stove

In order to fully extinguish the stove, push in the gas control knob
(fig. 9-1) a little and turn clockwise to «OFF». Do not use force.
