autopilot
The automatic boat trim system and an autopilot may,
depending on the type of boat, have difficulty working
together. When using an autopilot, it may be necessary to
run the automatic boat trim system in manual mode.
Volvo Penta Powertrim assistant
If Volvo Penta Powertrim Assistant is installed and used in
the boat, we recommend that setting the desired running
trim be carried out at speeds below 5 knots. This means
that the automatic boat trim system will only compensate
for thwartships deviations (roll). In this way there is no risk
that both automatic systems try to overcompensate or
work against each other.
gPS status
The ACU has two integral LEDs, one yellow and one
green. The green LED indicates GPS signal reception
status (refer to the table below). The yellow LED indicates
fault causes according to the descriptions in the Fault
codes, acU section.
Status
1.
No GPS reception
2.
GPS reception OK

time new GPS data is
received.
maintaining the system
In the same way as for all hull penetrations it is appropri-
ate to regularly check for leaks in the area where the in-
terceptor blades are installed. Biological fouling may vary
from almost non-existent to very severe depending on
water conditions prevailing where the boat is in use.
Where necessary, paint the outside of the interceptor
units with ant-fouling paint. noTe! Do not paint moving
parts, e.g. the blades!
Extend the interceptor blades and carefully remove bio-
logical fouling if the boat has been in harbor for a longer
period and fouling is severe. noTe! Do not use any kind
of high pressure washer. noTe! Do not use aggressive
solvents such as acetone, methanol, and corrosive acids
etc.
keep these operator's and installation instructions
together with the boat's operator's manual!
Fault codes
Certain fault codes are used to facilitate fault tracing in
the case of system faults. When a fault code is registered
the user is notified by certain control panel LEDs flashing.
The following fault codes/flashes may be displayed (refer
to the Fault codes, Boat trim system table).
