To preve nt injury and printer failures from worsening , observe the follo wing:
While the paper cover is open, be careful to not touch the man ual
cutter that is in the paper eject slot.
Do not touch the printing surface of the thermal head.
Do not touch any of the moving parts (e.g., paper cutter, gears, active
electric parts) while the print er is working.
In case of trouble do not attempt to repair the printer. Ask Citizen
Systems service for repair .
Be careful that the covers do not pinch your hands or fingers.
Be careful of the sharp edges on the print er. Do not allow them to
inju re you or damag e pro perty.
• May result in electric shock, burn, or injury.
If the printer emit s smo ke, an odd smell, or unusual noise while
printing, immediat ely abort the current print session and
unpl ug the printer from the electric outlet.
Observe the follo wing precautions for daily main tenance.
When cleanin g the prin ter, always turn it off and unpl ug it from the
electric outlet.
Use a soft, dry cloth for cleanin g the surface of the printer case.
For severe stains, use a soft cloth slig htly dampe ned with water.
Never use organic cleanin g solvent such as alcohol, paint thinne r,
trichlo roethylene,
processed cleanin g cloth.
To rem ove paper dust, use a soft brus h.
CAUTION
• The thermal head is at a dan gerously hig h temper ature imme diately after printing.
Allow it to cool off before starting ma intenance work.
