3. SETUP

3.1 Connecting the AC Power Cord

1. Turn off the power.
2. Connect the AC power cord to the AC inlet, and insert the plu g into an electric outlet.
CAUTION
Use an AC power source that does not also supply power to equip ment that
generate s electromagnetic noise.
Pullin g on the AC power cord may damag e it, cause a fire, electric shock, or break a
wire.
Make sure that the AC power cord is fully inserted so it does not pull out durin g use.
If a ligh tning storm is approaching, unplu g the AC power cord from the electric outlet.
A lig htnin g strike may cause a fire or electric shock.
Keep the AC power cord away from heat generatin g applian ces. The insulation on the
AC power cord may melt and cause a fire or electric shock.
If the prin ter is not going to be used for a long time, unp lug the AC power cord from
the electric outlet.
Place the AC power cord so that peop le do not trip on it.
