Note
Fitting and commissioning is to be carried out only by qualified personnel in
accordance with the operating instructions.
Note the warnings and instructions on the product and in the relevant operating
instructions. Observe the information/notes in the respective documentation
accompanying the product and in the corresponding operating instructions.
First read through all the operating instructions supplied with the product. In
this way you can avoid extra expense due to any necessary corrective measures.

Function and application
When the compressed air ports are pressurised alternately, the inner vane in the
housing swivels backwards and forwards. This swivel movement is transmitted to
the outer stop lever and the drive shaft as a rotary movement. The angle of rota-
tion can be limited by means of adjustable shock absorber elements (elastomer
shock absorbers or shock absorbers) for the stop lever.
The DSM semi-rotary drive has been designed for swivelling work loads which do
not have to carry out a complete revolution.

Transport and storage
• Take into account the weight of the DSM:
It weighs up to 7.2 kg.
• Ensure the following storage conditions are met:
– Short storage times
– Cool, dry, shaded, corrosion-resistant storage locations.

Requirements for product use
Note
Malfunctions will occur if the device is incorrectly used.
• Be sure to always comply with the specifications in this chapter.
• Note the warnings and instructions on the product and in the relevant
operating instructions.
• Compare the limit values specified in these operating instructions with your
actual application (e.g. pressures, forces, torques, temperatures, masses).
Only compliance with the load limits allows operation of the product in compli-
ance with the relevant safety regulations.
• Take into consideration the ambient conditions at the location of use.
Corrosive elements in the environment (e.g. ozone) will reduce the service life of
the product.
• Ensure that all applicable safety regulations are adhered, e.g. from trade associ-
ations or national authorities.
• Remove the packaging.
The packing is intended for recycling (except for: oiled paper = other waste).
• Ensure that the compressed air is properly prepared (
• Maintain the selected medium for the complete service life of the product.
Example: always use non-lubricated compressed air.
• Pressurize your complete system slowly until the operating pressure is reached.
This ensures that all actuator movement is controlled.
English
For slow start-up pressurisation use soft-start valve type HEL.
• Use the product in its original condition without any unauthorised modifica-
tions.
• Take the tolerance of the tightening torques into account. Unless otherwise
specified, the tolerance is ±20 %.

Installation

4.1 Mechanical assembly

• Handle the DSM with care so that the drive output shaft is not damaged.
This applies in particular to the following points:
1. Check whether it is necessary to drill
additional holes in the fastening
flange of the DSM.
The grey areas (G) (Fig. 2) show
where additional holes can be drilled
on the DSM (e.g. to mount centring
pins).
2. Position the DSM so that you can
easily reach the operating parts.
3. Fasten the DSM with at least 2 screws.

For DSMs with a hollow flange shaft:
4. Pull hoses and cables through the hollow flange shaft if necessary.
The usable interior diameter for routing of the lines has the following dimen-
sions:
